Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahli Saudi side have climbed back to the top of the log after beating Najran 2-0 on Tuesday.
Al Ahli were handed an advantage when Narjan’s Christian Martinez was sent off after 54 minutes.
In the end, a first-half goal by Abdullah Al Mogren and a late second by Morad Khodari secured Mosimane’s men their ninth win over the last 10 games.
The incredible run has seen Al Ahli open a 13-point gap to the non-promotion places, while they’ve also overtaken Al Hazem as log leaders.
Hazem had dropped points on Monday after being held to a 1-1 draw by Al-Qadisiyah, meaning Mosimane’s side climbed two points above their promotion rivals.
Overall, it was Mosimane’s 12th win since moving to Saudi Arabia, while he’s drawn six and lost just one of his 19 games in charge of Al Ahli.
They return to action on 12 March when they take on fourth-placed Al Riyadh.
