Pitso Mosimane has sent a message of encouragement to Percy Tau after his return to team training with Al Ahly.
Tau had just returned from injury and re-earned his place in the Al Ahly starting with two goals before a muscle injury once again disrupted him in December.
He has now returned to team training and seems edging closer to take to the field again, with Mosimane wishing him injury-free 2023.
“Top player. I wish 2023 keeps you away from injuries,” he wrote on social media.
“Don’t worry too much, you are still a quality player to be play at high level.
“Just pray a lot.”
Mosimane brought Tau to Al Ahly in August 2021, when he joined Africa’s most decorated club from Brighton & Hove Albion.
Overall, Tau featured in 38 games for the Egyptian giants, scoring 10 goals and assisting another six.
Al Ahly have started the new season well and are still unbeaten under new coach Marcel Koller, who has picked up 11 wins and four draws across all competitions.
From 1 to 11 February they will take part in the 2022 FIFA Club World Cup, which was moved to 2023 due to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, with Tau hopefully ready to take part in the tournament this year after missing last year’s edition due to injury.
