Al-Ahli Saudi head coach Pitso Mosimane has responded to reports linking him to Kaizer Chiefs as the pressure mounts on Amakhosi to fire Arthur Zwane.

Zwane was appointed as the head coach of Chiefs at the start of the 2022/23 DStv Premiership campaign.

The 49-year old mentor had a difficult start to his tenure as a first team coach after guiding Amakhosi to a record 13 games lost in one season in the league.

In the just-ended season, Chiefs won 12 games in the league, drawing five and losing 12 times. They finished fifth on the log and missed out on CAF interclubs competitions.

With Chiefs having arguably one of their worst seasons, the club’s highly-demanding supporters have been calling for the club to making coaching changes.

Meanwhile, Mosimane has reportedly not being paid since January alongside his technical team members despite helping Al-Ahli gain promotion to the Saudi Pro League.

Although Zwane is still in charge on Chiefs, Mosimane has commented on the possibilities of taking over at the club.

“I’ll ask my agent but he has never told me anything about Kaizer Chiefs,” Mosimane told Power FM.

“But anything is possible, I like projects so if someone gives me a project and has a vision. I also have my say on how things can go from step one, two and three,”

The former Mamelodi Sundowns tactician also weighed in on the interested Egyptian giants Zamalek showed in his services.

“The problem with Zamalek is that they came once I’m in the middle of the season in Saudi Arabia.

“I have a team and I’m second on the log, trying to get promotion. My agent tells me that there’s a request from Zamalek but you have to come now.

“I wasn’t going to do that. I’ve been wanting to be in Asia so how can I leave just like that,” Mosimane added.
