Mosimane will reveal his squad at SAFA House on Thursday at 12:00 as he prepares for three international matches.
Bafana Bafana will host Guinea on 26 September in an AFCON qualifier. They will then travel to Egypt to face Eritrea on 30 September. They will then face Egypt in an international friendly at Cairo International Stadium on 4 October, Mosimane’s third match in charge.
PITSO MOSIMANE TO CUT PRELIMINARY SQUAD
A preliminary squad was previously announced, with three goalkeepers included: Ronwen Williams, Sipho Chaine and Ricardo Goss.
The defensive options are Aubrey Modiba, Samukele Kabini, Fawaaz Basadien, Kamogelo Sebelebele, Thapelo Morena, Thabang Matuludi, Olwethu Makhanya and Khulumani Ndamane.
The midfielders are Teboho Mokoena, Lebohang Maboe, Cemran Dansin, Sphephelo Sithole, Bathusi Aubaas and Brooklyn Poggenpoel.
The attacking group features Iqraam Rayners, Yanela Mbuthuma, Lyle Foster, Cassius Mailula, Oswin Appollis, Puso Dithejane, Tashreeq Matthews, Relebohile Mofokeng, Themba Zwane, Ronaldo van Neel, Thapelo Maseko, Tshepang Moremi, Luther Singh and Shandre Campbell.
Mosimane must now make his final selection, with several established names competing alongside a number of younger players for places in the squad.
THREE GAMES TO START THE MOSIMANE ERA
Thursday’s announcement will provide the first major indication of how Mosimane intends to build his Bafana Bafana squad.
The coach has a mix of experience and youth to choose from, with players such as Williams, Mokoena, Zwane and Foster joined by emerging options including Mailula, Mofokeng, Sebelebele, Makhanya, Matuludi and Campbell.
The Guinea qualifier will be Mosimane’s first competitive match in charge, followed by the trip to Egypt for the Eritrea fixture.
The friendly against Egypt will then give him another opportunity to assess his squad against one of Africa’s established national teams.
The final squad announcement will therefore be closely watched, particularly with the AFCON qualifiers coming so quickly after his appointment.
