Pitso Mosimane’s hard work in Saudi Arabia isn’t going unnoticed, as he has bagged a big award.
Mosimane was voted coach of the month of February after an impressive month with his side Al Ahli Saudi.
PITSO MOSIMANE’S IMPACT AT AL AHLI
The former Bafana Bafana mentor has been working his magic with the Saudi outfit this season, making them one of the favourites for the Saudi First Division title.
He arrived at a team struggling in the bottom half of the table last year before turning things around superbly.
They’re now battling it out for the title with rivals Al-Hazm who are a point clear of Mosimane’s side. This is after 25 matches so far this season.
In February, Mosimane’s side were on fire, winning three of their four matches. They picked up nine points from a possible 12 in the process.
The only loss they suffered was the painful 4-1 thumping they received at the hands of Al-Akhdoud at the beginning of the month.
Mosimane was delighted with the award, dedicating it to his entire team and adding that he would not have been able to achieve the feat on his own.
“I am humbly receiving this award on behalf of the players, our supporters, fans, management, staff, board and vice President and President of the team and our families. It is our award, and we all contributed,” said Mosimane.
“Also, not forgetting the sponsors and everybody who voted for us.”
PITSO MOSIMANE PIPS RIVAL COACH TO AWARD
The South African pipped Portuguese coach Filipe Gouveia to the award. Al-Hazm were undefeated in the month of February.
The log leaders won all five of their matches last month. They scored 12 goals in the process and conceded just once.
