Pirates Without Timm In Soweto Derby

Orlando Pirates will miss midfield engine Miguel Timm in the Soweto Derby on Saturday.

The 30-year-old has quickly become a mainstay in Jose Riveiro’s side, having started all of the last 12 matches across all competitions.

However, he picked up his fourth yellow card in the 91st minute against Mamelodi Sundowns in their 3-0 second-leg semi-final victory.

As a consequence, Timm will miss his first derby for Pirates against Kaizer Chiefs, with Riveiro having to shuffle his midfield.

The other players suspended this weekend are Cape Town Citu’s Thato Tsiliso Mokeke, Sundowns’ Aubrey Modiba and Stellenbosch coach Steve Barker.

The last round of DStv Premiership fixtures before the FIFA World Cup break kicks off this evening, when struggling Maritzburg United host lukewarm Golden Arrows.
