Orlando Pirates made it six consecutive wins in the DStv Premiership after the 2-1 victory over TS Galaxy at the Mbombela Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

It took just two minutes for the in-form Buccaneers to open the scoring when Terrence Dzvukamanja headed home Kabelo Dlamini’s pin-point corner delivery.

Pirates were clearly buoyed by the opener but the home side fought back valiantly and were eventually rewarded after 39 minutes through their captain Given Msimango.

The 25-year-old, who is set for a move to Pirates’ rivals Kaizer Chiefs next season, also found his goal from a corner, as his managed to guide the ball past Sipho Chaine and Miguel Timm of the goal line.

But not to be denied their three points, early in the second half, another corner resulted in Deon Hotto restoring the advantage just before the hour mark which proved to be the all-important effort to secure a vital three points for Jose Riveiro and his troops.

The win moved Pirates above SuperSport and into the CAF Champions League qualification spot with a two-point lead heading into the final three games of the league campaign.
