Zambia international Austin Muwowo and several others could part ways with Orlando Pirates ahead of the 2022/23 season.
Pirates won the race to sign the winger back in July 2019 from Nkana after he won the Zambia Super League Golden Boot and Player of the Season whilst also breaking into the senior national team under then-coach Aggrey Chiyangi.
Much was expected from Muwowo after the impression compatriots Justin Shonga and Augustine Mulenga made at the club before him but he found first-team football opportunities hard to come by despite not suffering any major injuries.
His first two seasons at the club saw him only feature nine times before he secured a loan move to Swallows in the 2021/22 campaign but during a tumultuous campaign at the Dube Birds, where Brandon Truter was replaced by Dylan Kerr as head coach, and fighting a relegation battle for most of the season he was also left on the periphery of the first-team.
Now upon the loan expiring, iDiski Times understands the player is likely to have his contract terminated via mutual consent after being given no assurances of first-team football at the club as he now looks to resurrect his career elsewhere.

A source close to the club revealed that a couple of more players are facing uncertain futures, the likes of Wayde Jooste, Ben Motshwari, Terrence Dzvukamanja, Collins Makgaka and even the highly-rated academy product Thabiso Monyane could leave, albeit on loan.
Despite his ill-fated spell in South Africa since his arrival three years ago, Muwowo is not likely to be short of suitors, given the talent he displayed in Zambia which ranked him as one of the Chipolopolo’s brightest prospects in recent years.
While Makgaga has attracted interest elsewhere in the South African top-flight already, Stellenbosch FC have long been admirers of the former Baroka playmaker while Motshwari has been linked with newly-promoted Richards Bay FC.
However, the appointment of head coach Jose Riveiro could potentially see a slight change in plans as he assesses his squad with the newly formed technical team.
