Pirates Coach Opens Up On Broos-Mosele Talks

Orlando Pirates midfielder Goodman Mosele held clear-the-air talks with Bafana Bafana boss Hugo Broos, coach Mandla Ncikazi has revealed.

Mosele, 22, has hit top form with the Buccaneers in recent weeks bagging two assist in the 3-0 win over Royal Leopard in the CAF Confederation Cup, followed by the stunning winning goal over SuperSport United.

But his recall to the national team came as surprise given the circumstances in which Broos was left raging and called him out for going AWOL for his maiden call-up.

However, it was suggested that Mosele had gone through reported anxiety issues within his meteoric rise to stardom in the Premier Soccer League, Pirates and national team recognition.

The 2017 Africa Cup of Nations winning coach has since sat down and met the player and the Buccaneers coach before burying the hatchet ahead of his call-up to face France and Guinea in the upcoming FIFA international break.

“Mosele is a good player like I said last week, there’s more to come from him, what happened to him, I understood clearly,” he said in response to iDiski Times in the post-match press conference.

“We’re from the same backgrounds, so maybe one good thing one should give credit to was the initiative of the national team coach, he wanted to meet him and I accompanied him, we had a meeting with the coach.

“Myself, Mosele [and Broos] ironed out the issues and made him understand that some of our players go through a lot and I understood better. I’m happy the coach understood the apology and understood the situation.”

“On the playing field Mosele is a top player, I think there’s more to him, let him go and play in the national team and come back and contribute to Pirates, – but top player.”

The tireless midfielder has scored three goals and registered three assists in 20 games for the Swoeto giants in all competitions since his off-season switch from Baroka.
