Pirates and Chiefs in action today, where to watch
The two big Soweto teams, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, will play friendly matches again today as they continue their preparations for the new season in Spain.
Pirates will play their second pre-season match, where they will face Cádiz CF, who play in the Spanish Segunda Division. This match will take place at the Marbella Sports Centre on Saturday at 6:45 PM. In their first match, Pirates drew 1-1 with Córdoba CF, with Boitumelo Radiopane scoring the equalising goal shortly before the final whistle. Fans will be able to watch the match live on SuperSport Channel 209 and on the Orlando Pirates YouTube Channel.
On the other hand, Kaizer Chiefs will play their third and final match in Spain, where they will face Elche CF at 7:00 PM. They drew 1-1 with Scotland’s Glasgow Rangers and also recorded the same scoreline against Al Khalood of Saudi Arabia. This final match will not be broadcast on television or any other platform. After this match, Chiefs will return to South Africa on Sunday to continue their preparations. They will conclude their pre-season preparations by facing Zimbabwe’s Scotland FC in the Toyota Cup on July 27 at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace.
Both teams are in the final stages of their training camp in Spain. Kaizer Chiefs are looking to restore their pride after finishing last season without any trophies, while Orlando Pirates will want to defend their three titles and perform well in the CAF Champions League.
