Philani Zulu set to join a new club after parting ways with Kaizer Chiefs

Former Kaizer Chiefs and Maritzburg united full back player is set to join the KwaZulu-Natal based side as a free agent.

According to FarPost, Philani Zulu will soon be announced by Benni McCarthy’s side Amazulu Football Club after Kaizer chiefs decided against signing a new contract with the player.



The 28-year old joined Kaizer Chiefs at the beginning of the 2017/18 season. His reunion with Steve Komphela, who was the coach back then, was one of the sweet ones for the player as he was a regular starter.

His stay however became a nightmare after some time as the club parted ways with Steve Komphela.



His first contract with Kaizer Chiefs expired in 2020, the club decided to extend his contract, along with Sphelele Ntshangase, Peterson and other senior players.

As the two window transfter ban is finally over for the club, they signed Sbusiso Mabiliso and Sfiso Hlanti, who are also playing in the same position as Philani Zulu.
