Petrol and diesel prices will be hiked at midnight on Tuesday, with oil having become more expensive due to stronger Chinese demand, the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy has confirmed.
Unleaded petrol (both 93 and 95 octanes) will increase by 28 cents a litre, while diesel will be hiked by between one cent to around nine cents a litre.

The changes will come into effect from midnight on Tuesday, 31 January.
