Ayanda Patosi had started training with Cape Town City two weeks ago but iDiski Times understands he has stopped training with the club.
The 29-year-old trained with the Citizens even at the beginning of last season before going back to Iran. It was a bit different this time around as his contract with Iranian side Foolad expired on 30 June 2022 .
He helped his Iranian side to the last 16 of AFC Champions League where they are set to face the Saudi Arabian side AS-Faisaly.
Foolad are believed to be keen on sitting down Patosi to talk about a new contract but the South African midfielder wanted to wait and see whether he could secure a move back to the Premier Soccer League.

He recently told Sinethemba Makonco of iDiski Times, that “there are offers” while his former team “are happy with me and I’m also happy”.
It remains unclear whether City will offer their former player a contract, but for now he has stopped training with the club, but soon needs to make a decision on his next career move.
City confirmed former Orlando Pirates, AmaZulu FC, and Stellenbosch FC veteran defender Marc Van Heerden as their first official signing.
They have also been interested in signing another former player, Lebogang Manyama who is now a free agent after he was released by Kaizer Chiefs.
