South African music producer Oscar Mbo has sparked a flurry of attention online after sharing videos showcasing his involvement with the Zion Christian Church (ZCC).

Known for his deep house hits like Yes, God, the award-winning artist has frequently expressed pride in his faith on social media.

Earlier this year, Oscar Mbo was seen proudly wearing his ZCC uniform in a video posted to his Instagram stories, travelling to church for a service.

In March, he shared another clip singing a church hymn while on his way to attend a service, drawing admiration from fans for his visible commitment.

However, the content also drew criticism among some social media users, who dug up evidence of actions they felt were inconsistent with the church’s teachings.

X blogger @MDNnewss highlighted Oscar’s devotion, posting: “Oscar Mbo is on his way to church,” but other users pointed to instances where he appeared to indulge in activities frowned upon by the church.

One critic, @ChrisExcel102, wrote: “After this, he’s going to advertise a Cognac and smoke cigar while braaing Pork,” referencing past images of the DJ drinking, smoking, and promoting alcohol.

The posts triggered a mix of reactions, with some fans praising Oscar Mbo for staying rooted in his faith despite his public lifestyle, while others questioned the apparent double standards.

The stir continues to play out across social media, reflecting broader conversations around celebrity lifestyles and personal beliefs.
