Kaizer Chiefs to decide on fate of two talented players

Kaizer Chiefs are set to make key decisions on the futures of Dillan Solomons and Gaston Sirino before the end of the season.

Both players are out of contract at the end of June and have struggled for consistent game time under head coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze.

Solomons initially fell down the pecking order around October, but a string of impressive performances in the CAF Confederation Cup helped him regain favour. The right-back has since made 19 appearances across all competitions, scoring once.

Kaizer Chiefs could part ways with Sirino

Gaston Sirino, meanwhile, faces a far more uncertain future at Naturena.

The 35-year-old joined Amakhosi as a free agent in 2024 amid high expectations following a successful spell at Mamelodi Sundowns. However, he has failed to consistently replicate that form, with injuries further disrupting his rhythm.

This season, the Uruguayan attacker has managed just one goal and two assists in 23 appearances across all competitions, figures that fall well below expectations for a player of his pedigree.

Given his age and limited impact over the past 18 months, Sirino appears increasingly likely to be among the players shown the exit door at the end of the campaign.

Which other Kaizer Chiefs players are set to leave?

George Matlou, Fiacre Ntwari, Khanyisa Mayo and Ashley Du Preez are also among those who could part ways with the club as Chiefs look to reshape their squad.

Amakhosi will be in action on Monday against struggling Orbit College in a Betway Premiership clash. After losing four consecutive matches in February and early March, Kaizer Chiefs bounced back to win two matches before the international break.

A win for the Glamour Boys on Monday will put them third in the Betway Premiership.

Which players should Chiefs release at the end of the season?
