Orlando Pirates have announced the departures of midfielders Daniel Msendami and Abdoulaye Mariko to Marumo Gallants.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Pirates confirmed that the two midfielders are joining Gallants on loan until the end of the current campaign.
Both Msendami and Mariko joined the Buccaneers with high expectations at the start of last season.
However, the duo found the going tough as they struggled for first team football due to stiff competition in Abdeslam Ouaddou’s starting line-up.
Msendami was limited to just 11 appearances across all competitions last term, and it could have been worse this season.
Mariko, on the other hand, featured just 12 times for the Soweto giants, and those appearances were mostly from the bench.
With so many exciting young players that Pirates have signed this season, the two players stood no chance of regular football.
For instance, there is Simphiwe Masilela, Mpho Padime, returnee Mohau Nkota and newly-signed Bheki Mabuza.

“The club can also confirm that Daniel Msendami and Abdoulaye Mariko will move in the opposite direction, joining Marumo Gallants on season-long loan agreements,” reads part of the statement.
