OFFICIAL: Toni Rüdiger joins Real Madrid | Breaking News

Real Madrid have confirmed the arrival of defender Toni Rüdiger.

The German international joins the Spanish giants from Chelsea. The contract will be valid until June 2026.

Rüdiger played a significant role in helping the Blues lift the Uefa Champions League, the Europa League, the Club World Cup, Uefa Super Cup and FA Cup during his five-season stay at Stanford Bridge.

The centre-back has also featured in the Champions League Team of the Season in the last two seasons.

“We have strengthened our squad by signing one of the best defenders in world football after the German international has joined the club from Chelsea,” read Madrid’s official statement.

The 29-year-old boasts experience in England, Germany and Italy. Last campaign, he broke his record of appearances and goals as he played 54 games and found the back of the net on five occasions for Chelsea.

Rüdiger earned his 50th cap for Germany in March, and he was part of the 2017 Confederations Cup-winning squad.
