Mamelodi Sundowns have announced their latest signing, Moroccan defender Abdelmounaim Boutouil from Botola Pro side SCC Mohammedia.

As first reported by iDiski Times on 24 June, Downs reignited their interest in Boutouil for the new season after already trying to sign him in 2020 and both club’s agreed to terms in late July.

His Moroccan club Mohammedia confirmed the deal on their social channels and this publication has been informed that Boutouil has put pen to paper on a three-year deal, which includes an option to extend it by another two.

On Thursday, Masandawana have finally confirmed his arrival at the club, with AB becoming the frosty Moroccan player to play in the Premier Soccer League.

Boutouil becomes Sundowns’ sixth signing of the window, following Ronwen Williams, Sipho Mbule, Marcelo Allende, Bongani Zungu and Terrence Mashego, while Abubeker Nasir also arrived at Chloorkop even though his deal was already concluded in January.
