The Royal Spanish Football Federation has announced that Luis Enrique has left his role as Spain coach.
Spain were knocked out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup by Morocco after losing to 3-0 on penalties.
Enrique had been charge of Spain since 2018 and guided them into the last four at the UEFA Nations League and the semi-final at the 2020 EURO, before their last 16 exit at the World Cup.
“The RFEF would like to thank Luis Enrique – and his coaching staff – for being in charge of the national team over the last few years,” the RFEF confirmed on Thursday.
Overall, Enrique was in charge of 39 games, winning 21, drawing 11 and losing seven.
The RFEF are yet to announce a replacement for Enrique.
