Simba SC have sacked their new coach Zoran Manojlović after just 70 days in charge, the club confirmed on Tuesday.

The Tanzanian giants had appointed the former Wydad Atheltic Club and CR Belouizdad boss as their new head coach on 28 June but have now already parted ways with the Serbian coach.

After parting ways with Spaniard Pablo Franco Martin after a trophyless 2021/22 season several high-profile names were linked with the East African giants, with Stuart Baxter said to be one of the front-runners for the role but the former Kaizer Chiefs tactician was understood to have rejected the opportunity.

After extensive recruitment process, Simba had opted for Manojlović who holds extensive experience on the continent after stints in Angola with Primeiro de Agosto, Wydad in Morocco, Al Hilal in Sudan and Belouizdad where he won the Algerian Ligue 1 before being lured to Saudi Arabia with Al Tai.

Simba are aiming to restore order after Young Africans SC, their fierce rivals romped to the league title unbeaten and completed the domestic domestic double after also lifting the Azam Sports Federation Cup.

However, they will now once again be on the lookout for a new coach.
