Real Madrid star Marco Asensio has announced his depart from Los Blancos when his contract expires by the end of the month.
Asensio, 27, joined Real from Espanyol in 2015 and had since won 17 trophies with the club, including three UEFA Champions League titles.
This campaign, he made 50 appearances in all competition, scoring 12 goals and setting up eight more.
However, he has now announced that his eight-year spell at Santiago Bernabeu is coming to an end.
“The time has come when I have to make a difficult decision, I have decided to embark on a new direction in my career, in search of a new project in which I can achieve new goals,” he said in a video shared on social media.
“Thank you Madridstas for all the unconditional support.”
Overall, Asensio made 285 appearances for Real, scoring 61 goals and setting up 32 more.
The winger has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
