Former Chippa United coach Kurt Lentjies has been unveiled as new head coach of ABC Motsepe League side Peace Makers.
Lentjies began the 2021/22 season as an active player on the books of the Chippa United under coach Gavin Hunt before he was appointed as interim coach midway through the campaign after Hunt’s dismissal (following an initial period of special leave).
As a consequence, he called it quits on his playing days at the end of 2021/22 but he was dismissed by Chippa in a surprise u-turn despite saving them from relegation.
In the beginning of 2022/23, Lentjies was then replaced by Daine Klate as the head coach and the 37-year-old was offered a new role in the technical team, which he rejected.
However, Lentjies once again returned to the dugout to replace Mammila, who had followed Klate, in February but again departed shortly after only being of five games.
On Thursday, Lentjies was announced as new head coach of Eastern Cape ABC Motsepe League side Peace Makers FC, who are a feeder team to the Chilli Boys.
