Orlando Pirates legend Rooi Mahamutsa has completed a move to Botswana side VTM Football Club.

The 41-year-old South African veteran shows no signs of slowing down. Having first come through at Witbank Spurs, Mahamutsa became a household name during his eight years at Orlando Pirates.

In 2016 he moved on to Free State Stars where he played three seasons before short stints at Ajax Cape Town and TS Sporting. On Sunday, he was unveiled by VTM Football Club.

“Petrus Rooi Mahamutsa was here with the purpose of motivating the players as well as sharing his experience,” said VTM FC Manager Boitshepo Littah Gaegopolwe.

“With what he displayed, on the field of play during training sessions we were left with no option but to sign him.”

Mahamutsa was a late bloomer in his career. He made his PSL top flight debut when he was 26 years old on 30 August 2008 for Pirates against Golden Arrows. In seven years spent with the Buccaneers, he won nine trophies, including back-to-back trebles.

Mahamutsa was without a club in South Africa after he left relegated TS Sporting at the end of last season in the Motsepe Foundations Championship, however, he was a regular at amateur games.
