Kaizer Chiefs have announced their latest signing of the transfer window via the club’s social channels today.

Chiefs continued their squad revamp by confirming the signing of Bafana Bafana midfielder Yusuf Maart from Sekhukhune United.

“Kaizer Chiefs have signed Yusuf Moegamat Maart on a three-year deal with a two-year option,” the club statement read.

“Maart arrives from Sekhukhune FC where he spent two seasons in the GladAfrica Championship and DStv Premiership. He played a total of 29 matches in the season that has just ended and scored three goals for Babina Noko.

“The midfielder’s club performances have earned him nine national team call-ups between 2021 and 2022, and he is now a regular in the Bafana Bafana set-up. Maart will join the team for preseason training this week.”

Maart, 26, moves to Naturena after both clubs agreed to a fee in the region of just under R6 million, which will be structured over two payments, iDiski Times understands.

Sekhukhune initially wanted R10 million for their midfielder, but, as reported in iDiski Times Edition 57, the club showed a willingness to renegotiate with Amakhosi over the fee due to Maart considering moving to the Soweto giants as a dream switch from not only a professional standout in his career but also financially.
