Baroka have confirmed the signing of former Bloemfontein Celtic and Royal AM goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgwane.

The club, who are sitting bottom of the DStv Premiership table confirmed the news on Friday,

Mabokgwane re-unites with interim coach Vincent Kobola, having previously played with the former defender at Mpumalanga Black Aces.

The 34-year-old goalkeeper had been a free agent since leaving Royal AM in January.

Capped 11 times by South Africa, Mabokgwane began his career as a youth player at Mamelodi Sundowns, before joining Platinum Stars.

From Dikwena he went to Bidvest Wits and then Aces, before spending three seasons at Orlando Pirates.

He joined Celtic in 2019, and moved alongside other players when Royal AM bough the Bloemfontein franchise last year, but found himself surplus to demands after an injury kept him out at the start of the season.

Mabokgwane will now hope to help Baroka avoid the drop, a tough ask with just four games remaining in the season.
