Nurkovic – I Can’t Wait To Have Amakhosi Fans Back

Kaizer Chiefs striker Samir Nurkovic feels the return of supporters will bring the squad extra motivation in the final fixtures of the 2021/22 season.

The Serbian forward scored his first goal of the season last week against Chippa United and will be aiming to get back to his best form to help Chiefs finish in the top three for CAF inter-club competition qualification.

Chiefs will play in front of fans for the first time since March 2020 and Nurkovic admits it’s something he and the rest of the squad are looking forward to.

“I’m really happy man It’s been such a long time since we had them on the stands last game like you said it was two years ago but finally we are here and I’m really happy and looking forward to having them back in the stands,” Nurkovic told the club’s media department.

“Having such fantastic supporters at the club as Kaizer Chiefs need them every game and like I said many times they like are our 12th player on the field, they give motivation that every player needs.

“I’m really happy to have them back on the field again I’m looking forward to seeing them and for me especially it was a hard period for two past years. A lot of injuries, surgeries and all that stuff but I’m finally here and like I said looking forward to seeing them on the stands again.”

Matthews Explains Tembo Decision

After the goalless draw with TS Galaxy, Nurkovic has urged his side to get back to the determination they showed in the 3-1 win over Chippa, for the upcoming clash against SuperSport United.

“We doing our preparations for like any other game, we work hard. We just need to continue fighting with the same fighting spirit that we played away game against Chippa United,” he added before expressing his delight to be back to full fitness again.

“I’m feeling great I’m really happy to be finally back on the field after such a long time and all the struggles and injuries I’m really happy to be back on the field, I’m feeling great. I can’t wait to get into the scoresheet again.”

Amakhosi will face a SuperSport United – who will be under the leadership of Andre Arendse after the sacking of Kaitano Tembo – on Saturday evening at the FNB Stadium.
