Chippa United have completed the signing of Cape Town All Stars defender Azola Ntsabo, iDiski Times has learnt.

Ntsabo was part of Ajax Cape Town youth development which saw him growing through the ranks of the club but unfortunately, he never made it to the senior side of the ‘Urban Warriors’. The 23-year-old has been identified by the Chilli Boys as the perfect replacement for the Namibia international Riaan Hanamub after losing him to AmaZulu.

He helped All Stars reach a playoff spot in the GladAfrica Championship 2021/22 campaign but that wasn’t enough as his side failed to get the promotion. It was clear after match day three that Stars won’t be making it to the DStv Premiership following their one-all draw against the University Of Pretoria, talks began, and Chippa United was clear on bringing in the youngster.

A close source told iDiski Times that the Eastern Cape-based side formally contacted Igugu leKapa during the playoffs, but talks were put on hold since All Stars wanted to focus on the playoffs.

This website can confirm that Chilli Boys have now snapped him up on a permanent deal upon the expiry of his contract with the Cape Town-based outfit.

Chippa will definitely look to strengthen their defence after finishing 14th on the log closer to relegation and conceding 34 goals, They recently lost defenders Veluyeke Zulu and Ryan Hanamub also to Usuthu.
