Search and rescue officials were in Sundumbili in northern KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday, where a tragic discovery was made.

IPSS Medical Rescue’s Samantha Meyrick reported that the body of the baby boy was recovered moments ago.

She stated, “Sadly, the newborn baby boy who had been disposed in a pit latrine was declared dead on scene. Metro Fire has recovered the body of the little boy and has been handed over to SAPS for further investigation.”
