New Orlando Pirates signing Melusi Buthelezi has sent an emotional farewell message to his old club TS Galaxy.

Buthelezi, 25, has had a stellar 2022/23 campaign, conceding just 15 goals in 21 appearances, while keeping 10 clean sheets.

His fine performances even saw him called up in Hugo Broos’ Bafana Bafana squad in September when he made his debut against Sierra Leone.

His superb campaign saw Pirates snap him up, with Buthelezi agreeing to a three-year deal with a two-year option, as reported by iDiski Times.

On Sunday, after his final appearance for the Rockets, the goalkeeper sent a farewell message to his former club’s fans, teammates, coaches and owner Tim Sukazi.

“I will forever be grateful for the opportunity this team gave me,” he wrote on Instagram.

“I just want to take this opportunity to thank the chairman Mr Tim Sukazi together with Mr Ziphozonke Hlubi for giving me a chance to be part of this beautiful team and for giving me a place I considered home.

“I also want to thank my teammates, who I’d be nothing without. I also want to thank the whole technical team for giving me a chance and to the supporters too, I want to say thank you so much.

“It’s time for me to say goodbye but to me you will always be an important family, one that I will never forget in my life. UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN.”

Pirates are yet to officially announce the transfer.
