National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola will testify before the Madlanga Commission on 22 September 2025.
The Commission, led by Justice Madlanga, is investigating corruption, political interference, and criminality within law enforcement.
Members of the public can follow proceedings online or attend in person under strict security measures.

The National Commissioner of Police, General Fannie Masemola, is set to testify before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry on Monday, 22 September 2025.

This was confirmed by the spokesperson of the Commission, Jeremy Michaels, on Sunday afternoon.

The Madlanga Commission, established by President Cyril Ramaphosa, is probing allegations of criminality, political interference, and corruption within the country’s law enforcement and intelligence structures.

The Madlanga Commission was established shortly after the KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner, Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, dropped bomb allegations about the judiciary system being captured by criminals, implicating certain political figures, including the now suspended Police Minister, Senzo Mchunu.

“The public will be able to follow the hearing via livestream on the Commission’s website www.criminaljusticecommission.org.za, as well as various other radio, television, news, and social media platforms.

“We would also like to remind those members of the public who want to attend the hearing that they should bring along a valid Identity Document or Driver’s Licence, and that no weapons will be permitted on the Commission’s premises, the Brigitte Mabandla Justice College in Pretoria,” said Michaels.
