Nassir Sundowns Arrival Imminent – iDiski Times

Ethiopia forward Abubeker Nassir is set to arrive in South Africa imminently after securing his work permit which delayed his start of pre-season.

The 22-year-old bid his goodbyes to his teammates last month and ended the season prematurely with Ethiopia Coffee in order to join up with Masandawana for pre-season training.

However, work-permit issues delayed his arrival, having already put pen to paper in the previous transfer window before spending the remainder of the season in the BetKing Ethiopia Premier League.

iDiski Times have been informed that the player secured his necessary paperwork from home affairs and will now join up with the Brazilians squad ‘in the next 24 to 48 hours’.

However, it remains to be seen whether the player will be registered for the upcoming season as Sundowns have also secured Morocco defender Abdelmounaim Boutouil, who is set to take up one of the five foreigner slots after Pavol Safranko, Gaston Sirino, Divine Lunga and Erwin Saavedra.

Peter Shalulile is likely to be able to register as a local after spending more than five years in South Africa, where he is now eligible for permanent residency in the country.

Nassir is set to be assessed once more by the Brazilians’ technical team before a final decision will be made on his short-term future with a loan move potentially on the cards.
