Mysterious letter sent to NPA from Jacob Zuma’s lawyer

A mysterious letter sent to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) from former South African president, Jacob Zuma on Wednesday.

It is confirmed that the NPA has received a letter from Zuma’s lawyer but it can not be revealed what it says. This happens after Jacob Zuma was charged with corruption in connection with the arm deals.

For now nothing has been revealed of what it says on the letter, all on public is that Mabuza Attorneys submitted its notice that they were dropping Jacob Zuma.

Zuma’s charges so far

  • Corruption
  • Fraud
  • Money laundering charges for allegedly pocketing bribes in return for political protection to French arms company Thales.

The next expected date to sit in scheduled in Pietermaritzburg a high Court on 1 May 2021.

SAMWU postpones Rand Water strike to allow CCMA intervention.

The South African Municipal Workers’ Union (Samwu) has on Wednesday postponed its strike at Rand Water to allow the Commission for Conciliation Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) to arbitrate in the legal matter between workers and the employer.

This after the Labour Court dismissed an interdict by Rand Water against Samwu calling the picket illegal and unlawful.

Workers downed tools on Wednesday over working conditions, including withdrawing incentive bonuses that workers had been receiving for the last 17 years.
