Michael Bucwa, popularly known as Mr Smeg, is a Twitter personality who rose to fame with his brand’s idea of always being photographed with his Smeg kettle. In 2021 he was rumoured to be dating Lasizwe and made headlines when that relationship was rumoured to have ended. Earlier this year, however, the spotlight was put on him after he publicly asked Pearl Thusi on a date, and she responded by saying yes.

Their date was nicknamed the national date, and they got many promoters and brands wanting to sponsor it. From the clothes they wore that day to the cars that picked them up were sponsored by some of the biggest brands in the country. After the successful date, they wanted to do a Valentine’s date, but their schedules would not let that happen, so they cancelled.

After the National date, Mr Smeg started getting gigs in the entertainment industry, and his career started expanding. He was already in showbiz but was getting more bookings because of his newly found fame. He started a job as a DJ and performed at parties and even gets booked by clubs to host. Michael landed his first acting gig in Durban Gen as the speaker at a Men’s conference that ended in disaster.

Mr Smeg ventures into music

Taking to his Instagram, Mr Smeg announced that he would be releasing his first album on the 7th of October this year. His music album is said to be titled Soft Life, and it is an Amapiano music album. He has already released two of the tracks called Impilo esoft and Rumani and got positive reviews. The album will feature artists like Fury, Blaq Hope, Sean Dee and many more. Many of his Twitter fans love his music and can not wait for the release of the whole album.
