Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Teboho Mokoena has revealed how the Masandawana have helped him to reach another level in his career.
Mokoena, 26, has been one of the standout players for Sundowns this campaign and his fine performances even see him mentioned in the Player of the Season debate.
Overall, he has featured in 24 games in all competitions, with coach Rulani Mokwena seeing him as one the first names on the team sheet.
Mokoena took part in a Q&A with Puma to celebrate the launch of the PUMA FUTURE Supercharge edition – the next evolution of the FUTURE football boot franchise worn by Brazilian super star Neymar Jr as well as South African stars Themba Zwane, Keagan Buchanan, Bongani Sam, Ethan Brooks, Sphelele Mkhulise, Zanele Nhlapo, Sibusiso Mabiliso and Mokoena himself.
Which parts of your game have improved the most during your time at Sundowns?
I’m now more technically aware. I read the game better and I get myself involved with the game at the right time and in the right areas.
What do you love about your position?
As a center midfield, one needs to be aggressive and able to pull strings, both in offensive play and defensive strategies. Above all, your work ethic must be unmatched.
What keeps you hungry for success and motivates you to put in the hours of hard work?
I want to give hope and faith to the young ones coming up from my hometown of Bethlehem, as well as the rest of Free State province. The world is full of opportunities, so they need to define their path and purse their goals.

What attracted you to PUMA and what has kept you with the brand?
PUMA are one of the biggest brands in the world. The boots, which are my primary tools, are top level. On top of that, the level of service is exceptional. All my needs are timeously catered for, and we players are all treated the same.
