  • Xolani Khumalo, known for his Moja Love show confronting crime, will run for mayor of Ekurhuleni in the 2026 local elections.
  • ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba praised Khumalo as a fearless, ethical leader who will tackle corruption and restore services.
  • Khumalo previously faced charges linked to an incident on his show in 2023, but all charges were temporarily dropped.

ActionSA has announced television host Xolani Khumalo as its mayoral candidate for the city of Ekurhuleni ahead of the 2026 local government elections.

Known for confronting crime and drug lords in Gauteng through his Moja Love show Sizok’thola, Khumalo’s new position was announced in Thembisa on Saturday.

ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba described Khumalo as a “fearless, ethical leader” ready to reclaim Ekurhuleni from criminals, restore basic services, and drive economic growth.

“This is the leader who will end corruption in our city, restore dignity to forgotten communities, and give Ekurhuleni the fresh start it deserves,” said Mashaba.

🗣️ “The people of Ekurhuleni, I present to you a leader who will fight for you!”
