MM Platinum, better known as La Masia booked their spot in the ABC Motsepe playoffs final in dramatic fashion with a 93rd minute strike by Bethuel Tukane. The victory also ensured their promotion to the GladAfrica Championship.
The team led by co-coaches Ashraf Hendricks, a Moroka Swallows Legend, and Delano Hendricks a Kaizer Chiefs academy product, became the first team to book their spots in the final of the ABC Motsepe league playoffs, and most importantly helped themselves to GladAfrica status by a 1-0 Scoreline over Spear of the Nation at Olen Park, Potchefstroom on Friday afternoon.
La Masia based in Florida, Roodepoort, started as the dominant figure making all the plays and camping in Spear of the Nations’ half.
Both teams clearly suffered from fatigue meant that it was down to who wanted it more.
A spot in the GladAfrica Championship was up for grabs. Spear of the Nation got comfortable and began to match their opponents a lot better as the encounter elapsed.
The game eventually went into added time and a beautiful goal was scored and engineered by the veteran Tukane, ending the hopes of the Eastern Cape’s Spear of the Nation.
