MK Party reshuffles top leadership as Zuma removes Nhleko, Hlophe

The uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party has announced a major leadership shake-up, removing former Police Minister Nathi Nhleko as national chairperson, while Dr John Hlophe has been relieved of his duties as the party’s first deputy president. Deputy secretary-general Nomusa Dlamini has also been removed from her position.

Former KwaZulu-Natal Premier Willies Mchunu has been brought into the party’s Presidency while retaining his role as the MK Party’s provincial chairperson in KwaZulu-Natal. Duduzane Zuma has been appointed as the new first deputy president. The party also announced the dissolution of its Strategic Presidential Team and the reinstatement of the Presidential Task Team as part of the latest organisational restructuring.
