Lalela Mswane never looked back since she started her pageantry career participating in the Matric Experience 2015 pageant, finishing as the first runner-up. Since then, she realised her potential and has been breaking records and making headlines. Her career rose as each competition passed; she was crowned the Miss South Africa 2021 and finished 2nd runner-up at the Miss Universe 2021. With all that said, Lalela is now Miss Supranational 2021. 

Lalela is only 25 years old, and her career is so decorated that many fans only imagined she had been investing in pageantry. Her pageantry success came as a natural talent from the heavens. Lalela doesn’t have to pretend or make so much effort because of her beauty. Before she took the peasantry career full-time, Lalela had graduated with one of the most prestigious and challenging degrees. She is a sharp beauty queen.

Born in Richards Bay in KwaZulu Natal, Lalela completed her secondary education at Pro Arte Alphen Park in 2015. She graduated with flying colours attracting a prolific degree at a top university. Likewise, she enrolled in the University of Pretoria, where she studied and graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree. However, Mswane did not use her Laws degree officially; it had been helping her in her pageantry career so much. Her ability to critically answer questions is one of her vital weapons.

On 6 July 2021, Mwane was announced as one of the 30 women shortlisted for the Mis South Africa. After a round of interviews and public voting, she proceeded to the semifinalists and went through the process until she got crowned. She received an impressive package, including an opportunity t represent South Africa at Miss Universe 2021.

At the Miss Universe, Mswane impressed despite being criticised in South Africa following the Israeli–Palestinian conflict. She even participated against her government’s support and finished second runner-up.

Mswane’s win means that Africa has made a back-to-back winner of the Miss Supranational. Currently, she won the Miss Supranational 2022, becoming the first black woman ever to win the contest. She is the second African woman to win the competition after Chanique Rabe.
