Former Orlando Pirates striker Gabadinho Mhango has opened up on his AmaZulu move, saying it’s “amazing” to be part of his new club.

Mhango, 29, is one of nine signings Usuthu made this window already but only linked up with his new team this week after featuring for Malawi in the COSAFA Cup.

After his first training session, Mhango spoke about his excitement to finally wear the AmaZulu colours.

“It’s something that I’ve been looking forward to join, to catch up with the guys,” he told the club’s media team.

“For me it’s amazing to be part of the AmaZulu.

“Finally wearing gear of AmaZulu is an amazing feeling and this is what I’ve been looking forward to.”

Mhango also sent a message to the fans, thanking them for their support since he joined the KwaZulu-Natal-based side.

“My message to the fans, thank you for welcoming me and I’m looking to see you guys at the stadium, support the team,” he added.

“I think it will be amazing and I know we’ll give you what you’re looking for.

“Come in numbers and support us at the stadium.”

Mhango joined AmaZulu after three seasons with Orlando Pirates, scoring 23 goals in 71 appearances but only featured 10 times in 2021/22.
