Overseas forward Mihlali Mayambela is scheduled to begin pre-season on Thursday with his fellow club Farense after spending the last several months on loan.

Mayambela was sent by the Portuguese Premier League team Farense to the second level side of Academica Coimbra on a loan in January. After the 24-year-old didn’t receive any time at Farense, she took 16 appearances at Academica.

Now the former developing player of Kaizer Chiefs will start his Farense parent club pre-season. He’s left on his deal with the club for a year.

“I have returned to my parent club. (On) I start pre-season Thursday, since I have a club last year,” Mayambela says to the Siya crew.

“For other reasons, I went on loans in January, not seeing the (former) coach eye-to-eye. A new coach has arrived in January in a week or two after I left,” he continues.

Mayambela joined Farense in 2019 on a permanent loan agreement with Swedish outfit Djurgardens after a loan to the Portuguese club. However, since then Farense has been lent to the top-tier Israelis Bnei Yehuda and more recently to the second-club Portuguese Academica.

He hopes to compete for his place in the Farense starting line-up as he approaches the last year of his contract.
