Mathaithai get rousing welcome despite Nedbank exit | ABC Motsepe League – Front Page

Free State ABC Motsepe League side Mathaithai FC received a huge welcome as they arrived in Botshabelo on Wednesday after their elimination from the 2022 Nedbank Cup edition.

Sebete Boys, as they are popularly known, succumbed to a 6-0 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns in the tournament’s last 16 at Locas Moripe Stadium on Tuesday.

The side was greeted by elated fans who had gathered in their township to celebrate the milestone that the club had managed to reach in the tournament.

The atmosphere was of a jubilation mood, cars beeping their horns and crowds cheering the players as they exited the bus.

“This kind of love can’t be bought, we are truely humbled Botshabelo,” the club tweeted on their official Twitter account.
