Marumo Gallants have officially confirmed the appointment of Phuti Mohafe as the club’s new head coach ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The Limpopo-based side announced the decision on Saturday, ending speculation over the identity of the man who will lead the team into the new campaign.
Mohafe arrives after serving as head coach of Polokwane City, where he earned praise for guiding the club to competitive performances in the Betway Premiership.
MARUMO GALLANTS CONFIRM APPOINTMENT
In an official statement, Marumo Gallants welcomed the experienced tactician and expressed confidence in his ability to drive the club forward in the Betway Premiership.
“Marumo Gallants F.C. is pleased to announce the appointment of Phuti Mohafe as the Club’s new Head Coach,” the club said.
Gallants added that Mohafe “brings a wealth of coaching experience, strong leadership qualities, and an in-depth understanding of the local football landscape” following his spell at Polokwane City.

The club believes Mohafe’s arrival marks the beginning of an exciting new era as it seeks to strengthen its ambitions on and off the pitch.
“The Club believes that Mohafe’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for Marumo Gallants as the team continues to strengthen its ambitions both on and off the field,” the statement continued.
Gallants also noted that his experience in South African football and his ability to work with players at different levels make him well-equipped for the challenge ahead.
Preparations for the upcoming season are already underway, with the club stating that Mohafe will receive full support from management during the transition and wishing him every success in his new role.
