Newly-appointed Richards Bay Technical Adviser Vasili Manousakis has spoken about how Benni McCarthy and Moeneeb Josephs pushed him to step up and take a leadership role.
He had previously been McCarthy’s assistant at AmaZulu and at Cape Town City.
Manousakis was interviewed in the latest edition of iDiskiTimes, and Rob Delport asked him if he had considered stepping out of the assistant role he had occupied for the past few seasons.
“The subject has come up before because it’s been raised by Benni and Moeneeb,” Manousakis told iDiskiTimes.
“These two guys are always full of praise and support.
“I often fight with them because I don’t like to hear it, but I respect their opinions because they played for some of the best coaches in the world.
“So I don’t actively think about it. I don’t chase the opportunity either because I believe it’s all in God’s time.”
