Royal AM president Shauwn ‘Mam’ Mkhize has responded to questions arising from CEO Sinky Mnisi’s heated press conference, saying those matters will be dealt with internally.
Mnisi had hosted a press conference on Wednesday, during which he announced he has placed himself on ‘special leave’ while also insisting he doesn’t feel enough protected by the club.
He also discussed matters such as Victor Letsoalo’s transfer to Sekhukhune United and Dillan Solomons’ move to Kaizer Chiefs, among many other topics during the hour-long presser.
Mkhize later was invited to Sports Night Live on Metro FM to respond to some of the allegations and points raised by Mnisi, but insisted she will not deal in public with internal matters.
“I don’t want to address any issues from any press conference. At this point in time I’m focussing on building a team, we’re playing a big game on Saturday,” she told Andile Ncube.

“I think I need to put a stop to this whole thing. My club is not a circus, that’s Nr.1. This is a formal club. Every internal matter of each and every club is never been run in the media.
“Internal affairs of each and every club are run internally and as the president of the club, it’s quite a big brand that I’m trying to create, I’ll not allow matters of my club to be run in the media. I’ve put my foot down.
“If there is anything that I want to say or anything that we want to relate as Royal AM, we will always call you. For now I’d ask everybody to allow us to prepare for the season, we’re going to Africa, we’re playing in MTN8, we’re playing in Nedbank, there is so much that we need to prepare for.
“There is so much pressure on us. Can we just be allowed to prepare the team to start and leave the other things?”
When pressed for an answer as a way to resolve the matter around Mnisi, Mkhize remained firm in her stance to not wash her dirty laundry in the media.
“As I’ve said before, if there are any issues with my matters of the club, I prefer with my matters of the club being dealt with internally,” she added.
“I’ve never spoken about my CEO anywhere and I’m still insisting I’m not going to speak about my CEO on the media.
“If I’ve got anything to say about my CEO, I’d have to speak to my CEO personally. I don’t think it’s fair for me to interact, I’ve never seen any club that is talking their matters on the media and as a president I must put a stop to this.
“This is my club and this is a brand.”
