Makhadzi discharged and recovering at home after car crash

Award-winning Limpopo musician Makhadzi has spoken out days after being involved in a car accident.

The star reassures fans that she is on the road to recovery but will be forced to take an extended break from live performances.

The hitmaker, born Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, took to social media on Monday to thank her supporters for the overwhelming love she has received since news of the crash began circulating online.

The accident reportedly occurred on Wednesday, 31 December 2025, while she was travelling from Limpopo to Johannesburg, sparking concern among fans across the country and beyond.

In an emotional message addressed to her loyal fanbase, the Khadzinators, Makhadzi revealed that she has since been discharged from hospital and is now recovering at home under the care of her family.

She explained that doctors have advised her to remain on home care for 10 weeks due to injuries sustained in the crash, meaning she will not be performing during that period.

“Thank you for the love and support you have been showing me during this difficult time,” she wrote.

“I feel a need to update you about my health because of the love you’ve shown me, not only in South Africa but all my African followers globally.”

While acknowledging how difficult it will be to stay away from the stage, Makhadzi struck a hopeful and faith-filled tone, describing herself as a fighter and expressing belief in her recovery.

She added that she is grateful her voice was not affected by the accident, a blessing she does not take lightly.

“I am slowly recovering well, trusting the process,” she shared, before revealing that the downtime will not be wasted.

Although she will not be performing, the singer said she plans to spend time in the studio, using the period of recovery to write new music.

“Ten weeks might look like I will be lonely, but I believe God is giving me time to write beautiful melodies,” she said, adding that the accident has given her a renewed sense of purpose and gratitude.

She also thanked God for what she described as a “second chance to breathe.”

Makhadzi ended her message by expressing love to her fans and assuring them that she will return when fully healed.

The update was met with an outpouring of support online, with fans and fellow artists wishing her a speedy recovery as she focuses on healing and creating new music.
