Cassius Mailula has opened up on the experience of training alongside Italy internationals Lorenzo Insigne and Federico Bernardeschi.
The Bafana Bafana forward joined up with his new side in the MLS last week after securing his visa after completing a transfer from DStv Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
He joins up with a squad where the two high-profile former Serie A stars are in, alongside USA legend Michael Bradley in midfield.
“I can see why these guys are good players,” Mailula told TFC.
“You can see how they are in training, the attitude, the technique. To play with them opens my eyes. It helps me work hard to get to the level that they are.”
Mailula added that seeing the FC Barcelona legends at Inter Miama in the league also gives him the confidence he made the right career move.
“Other even other teams in MLS – [Leo] Messi, [Sergio] Busquets. To come to MLS it’s truly a great pleasure. For the team to give me this opportunity, I’m so grateful.”
Mailula made the bench for his new side in the 3-2 defeat against Montreal and will now be aiming for his debut when they face off against Columbus on Sunday (1h30) SA time.
