MANUEL KAMBALA, AMONGST PLAYERS RELEASED

Motsoshi Baloyi, Tebogo Semenya, Thokozani Hlubi, Tlou Masegela, Njabulo Buthelezi, Mthokozisi Msomi, Junior Letwaba, Raymond Maluleke, Solly Makgoga, Shane April, Gopolang Seema, Donald Mokondelela, Lethabo Mazibuko, Thabiso Botopela, Manuel Kambala and Kagiso Selemela.

Head coach Clinton Larsen says out of the players released, the club tried to retain Selemela but failed.

“It was a collective decision by the technical team and management to release the players we did. I think of all the players, Selemela was the one player that we tried to keep,” he said.

“We know the talent that he has. Unfortunately, the negotiations didn’t go the way that we wanted. But he was the only player of the 16 players that we tried to keep.

“He had a decent season, but all the other players that we released, it was a collective decision. We needed to bring players that we felt more effective, and we believe we have done that.”

Magesi will open up their campaign away to their rivals Baroka on Saturday, 26 August.
