Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Neo Maema is expecting a tough match against an in-form Stellenbosch FC on Sunday.
Maema recently won the Man of the Match award in his side’s Nedbank Cup last-16 win against Marumo Gallants. The highly-rated midfielder has scored six goals in all competitions this season and has also collected two assists.
Masandawana, who have already played 31 games this season, including recent CAF Champions League trips to Cameroon and Egypt, return to domestic football on Sunday when they take on Stellenbosch in the Winelands.
The hosts enter the game on the back of four wins, while Sundowns have won the last 15 DStv Premiership matches in a row. Maema, though expects a tough outing for his side.
“Very difficult match. For starters, we didn’t have so much time to recover because we only came yesterday from Bloemfontein and we had to make sure that we recover as quickly as possible,” he told Sundowns media.
“Coming to this game we expect a very difficult match, the conditions in Cape Town…
“We also expect a very different team from the first half of the season when we faced them. Because they are very different in how they approach the matches and also they are a highly motivated team because they also won three games in a row so it’s a very different game.”
Cape Town is happy hunting ground for the defending DStv Premiership champions especially against Stellies as they’ve won three of their last four games and drew one.
