Mabiliso Reveals How He Felt Over Baxter’s Comments

Sibusiso Mabiliso said he was disappointed and hurt by comments of former Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter that said he lacked the basics, but said he had to remain strong.

Mabiliso and Chiefs mutually agreed to part ways last month, and the defender has signed returned to his former club AmaZulu.

The 23-year-old battled for regular time at the Amakhosi last season, starting just one league match, with five sub appearances as well.

In a recent interview with iDiski Times senior journalist Velile Mnyandu, Mabiliso commented about the comments made by Baxter to the media when he was asked why he wasn’t getting chances.

I was disappointed and hurt but I tried to remain strong because I know I don’t lack basics like how they were saying,” Mabiliso told iDiski Times.

“This was being said in the media and they never came to me to tell me, ‘Mabiliso you need to improve in certain areas’.

“So that’s why I didn’t take it to heart, I just kept quiet and let it go. It didn’t do a lot of harm because I’m mentally strong.

“So, it’s okay for them to say all those things because if I was lacking basics, they were supposed to come to me and tell me what I needed to work on to improve so I can play.

“I just saw on social media that I’m lacking basics, but it didn’t hurt too much because I’m mentally strong.”

In edition 69 of iDiski Times, we talk to Sibusiso Mabiliso who talks about his time at Kaizer Chiefs and how he feels he didn’t really get the chance to show what he was capable of.
