Kotoko Make Stance Clear On Etouga

Asante Kotoko have made their stance clear on Franck Mbella Etouga after winning the Ghana Premier League.

Etouga, 20, has emerged as one of the hottest prospects on the continent since joining the Ghanaian giants from Fortuna du Mfou in October last year and earned a senior Cameroon national team call-up.

The rarity of players based in Africa called up to the Indomitable Lions is a testament to his immense potential and Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly emerged as one of several suitors, as per recent reports in Ghanian media.

But Board Chairman of Kotoko, Dr. Kwame Kyei has issued a hands-off warning, stating the player is crucial for their plans as they embark on the CAF Champions League in the 2022/23 campaign.

“Mbella will stay at Kotoko as we participate in Africa, we can’t go without him,” he said on Akoma FM.

“We rather need more quality additions, so how can we sell our best player? We can’t let him go, we will do all we can to keep him.”

Etouga has scored 21 goals and registered two assists in 28 league outings for the two-time African Champions League winners.
